Seventy luxury condominiums went on sale this week at 222 E. Broadway on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
According to developer Optimum Asset Management, the project is currently under construction with occupancy estimated for early 2023. The property consists of a new 28-story tower and an adjacent renovated 11-story loft building. Units range in size from studios to four bedrooms and start at $975,000.
Designed by architectural firm SLCE Architects, 222 E. Broadway features an exterior facade designed by architectural design studio S4 Architecture and interiors designed by Paris Forino. The lofts were built in the landmark art deco Bialystoker building.
Amenities include an indoor swimming pool with cabanas, a 6,700-square-foot private landscaped park with children’s playground, barbecuing areas, meditation garden, fitness center with yoga studio, screening room with lounge, indoor children’s playroom and a doorman/concierge. Residents will also have access to a live-in resident manager, bicycle storage, and cold storage for food and flower deliveries, with private storage available for purchase.
"When we picture the new developments that will transform the Lower East Side into a premier residential destination, 222 E. Broadway is what we envision,” said Richard Cantor, principal of Cantor Pecorella, the building’s sales and marketing agent, in a statement.
According to leading New York City residential real estate investor and broker Robert Dankner, the city's condo market is rebounding.
We're seeing a lot of people that left the city during Covid that are coming back," Dankner told the New York Business Journal in August.
